Every day it seems that our e-mail inboxes receive mail from people or companies that we have never even heard about. Other time we do know the corporation – but we don’t understand why they are sending us such strange e-mails. Be careful what you read because it just might be a scammer trying to steal your information,

It is true that there are a few hoaxes out there that are harmless – but how can you tell them apart? You can’t – but we can for you. Here are a few real scams that you should look for in your inbox.

  • Scammers will try to con people into giving them their phones to other numbers
  • Some people will give away their AOL information through e-mail because they are being told they are being charged for roses that were bought trough 1-800-FLOWERS.
  • Scammers will tell people to complete the fake IRS form and therefore gain personal Information that leads to identity theft.
  • An e-mail from a lawyer that will give you advice on how to prevent credit card theft.
  • Television news investigation that shows Jiffy Lube outlets charging their customers for auto maintenance they never performed.
